Back-Up Lights
Back-Up Lights

Back-up lights are located at the rear of the vehicle, in order to warn anyone behind the vehicle, that the vehicle is backing up. There are normally two back-up lights on ever vehicle and they are located in both of the tail lights. This is a great place to house them because the reflection of the white back-up light against the red taillights will help the white light stand out better. Back-up lights are triggered when the vehicle is put into reverse since that is technically the only way the vehicle should be rolling backwards. Some vehicles will also have other back-up lights which can be located throughout the rear of the vehicle. The most common place to see another back-up light is on the third brake light. This particular light is normally found in the rear window or at the top of the trunk. It is also possible to have aftermarket back-up lights added to the vehicles. Although these are not extremely common, they are still very useful in vehicles that do allot of city driving where it is common to drive in reverse regularly.
